Tortoise and the Hare

With this mixed media piece I wanted to combine actual natural history specimens with the classic Aesop's fable to create something quirky and unique.
Something to display it in your library or in a child's nursery.

The Background of the piece was painted with water colors.
The hare mask is an actual tanned rabbit face. Throughout the piece turtle shell fragments pose as rocks.
The path is lined with Lovely Colorado rocks that I collected from my yard.
